Moot Court is an integral aspect of life of a law student and the lessons learn by participation in Moot Court help the student to stand tall in the real court like scenario when they enter the profession. Moot Court is indispensable part of legal education and the participation in Moot court is a mandatory requirement as mentioned by Bar Council of India (BCI) in regular BA.LLB and LLB Courses. Nancy College of Law believes in the holistic development of students not only in academic front but also on practical aspects.
Our College has a separate functional Moot Court consisting of students as well as faculty member who act as mentor of the students wherein the minute details of mooting is taught to students. The College is actively engaged in conducting Moot Courts at national and international level. The students of our College are made to interact with practicing advocates of Supreme Court, High Courts and District Courts under the aegis of this Moot Court team in order to motivate them and make them understand the vital contribution which is being made to the professional life of Advocate by participation in moot court at college level. Nancy College of Law has a wonderful Moot Court Hall which is equipped with all the required modern infrastructure for conduction of Moot Court competition. The ambience of Nancy College of Law Moot Court hall which has in-housed books, bare acts, commentaries, properly arranged podiums, Statue of lady Justice, images of preamble of Constitution etc. is itself an important factor which encourages the students to participate in the Moot Court. The Moot Court society at our College has the onus of informing the prospective students of college with regard to upcoming moot court competitions in the country and then the students are trained by the faculties for the same. The Moot Court team also has collaboration with various other law colleges to keep pace with the modern development and techniques in the area of mooting.
At our campus, the students right from the inception of their professional journey is made to witness moot court in order to develop their interest and get trained to perform while in real courtroom scenario that is expected to be there few years down the line. Moot Court skills are further enhanced when the students of Nancy College of Law are associated with practicing advocates and judges during their internship where the students get the firsthand experience of practical knowledge.
